Capital – new political theatre in Birmingham

Describing itself as “A Festival of New Writing”, Capital is taking over the Old Joint Stock Theatre in Birmingham for six evenings from 22nd to 27th November. With a programme of short plays, rehearsed readings and a competition it’s a showcase of the wealth of talented writers in the region.

All the work has a political flavour, with “The Big Society” being a particular theme, and with it’s own history of politically aware theatre Fierce Earth welcomes this focus. Both Mark and Helga started their careers in political theatre, at Women and Theatre and at Geese Theatre and Gay Sweatshop respectively.

The full programme can be found here, and the Box Office at the Old Joint Stock at 0121 200 0946 (11-5, Mon-Fri) (OxBox: 0845 680 1926 Online: www.oxboffice.com)
