BASS Festival commissioning new work

BASS (British Arts and Street Sounds), a month long festival of Black Music and Art, is held every June in Birmingham and other cities. This year, thanks to partnerships with Aspire 4U and Access to Music, they are commissioning artists to make new music, dance, spoken word and theatre. The festival producers, Punch Records, are “looking for musicians, dancers, spoken word performers and other artists with a real passion to create exciting new work that challenges, engages and builds audiences” on the theme of Revolution.

The deadline for applications is 12 noon on 14th February 2011, and details of how to apply can be found here. The fund is available for events or new work, with payments of between £500 and £3000 to make it possible.
