The intersection of the arts and digital technologies will be discussed at an event in Birmingham on Wednesday 23rd March. Digital Encounters, presented by mac and sampad, will “draw upon the experiences of a number of industry insiders, individuals and organisations that are testing new grounds for user focused digital engagement, and will explore the emerging practices and innovations where art and technology connect“. The Radiu5 data-visualisation, and Stravinsky’s Rite of Spring 3D performance by THSH are sure to be discussed.
The afternoon will be chaired by Jason Hall (Head of Innovation at ScreenWM), and speakers include Professor Gregory Sporton (Head of the Visualisation Research Unit at BIAD), Sophia New & Daniel Belasco Rogers (plan B artist collective), Andy Hartwell (Managing Director of Substrakt, Birmingham), Victoria Tilletson (IShed, Bristol), and Johnny O’Hanlon & Chris Cuthbert (aquismedia & artist).
Taking place at mac (the Midlands Art Centre) from 1-5 p.m. on March 23rd, Early Bird tickets are available HERE until March 17th.
