Announcing Metapod Connect course – booking now

Metapod Connect is a training course that will unlock the steps to building powerful networks both on and off-line in a way that works for you.

The course is targeted at artists and arts organisations to seek to be better at building strong, cohesive networks of people including audiences, clients, peers or customers or potential customers either using social media or in person.

As Fierce Earth was awarded funding from the Arts Council for this course, we are delighted to let you know that the price is subsidised so that we can offer places at a fraction of the real (unsubsidised) cost.

This four-day course will:

– show you how to meet people and build effective creative and business relationships over time;
– explain how to engage authentically with audiences, peers, customers and clients both online using social media and other tools, and offline in a variety of settings;
– give you practical hands-on tasks that you can apply immediately;
– provide a supportive and inspiring environment for your learning.

About the Trainers

The course will be led by Helga Henry of Fierce Earth and Pete Ashton, award-winning blogger, artist and internet expert. You can read more about Pete’s take on our training here.

About Metapod Training

Since 2005 Fierce Earth has developed a range of bespoke training and development programmes for the creative sector using the “Metapod” brand. Because we work in the sector too, we use our experience with peers to benchmark work, learn best practice from others and make useful connections.

A hallmark of Metapod Training is that we use creative techniques wherever possible and seek to translate theory or into practical “hands on” exercises and experiences which brings learning to life. Our speakers are always picked for the calibre of their presentation and the vividness with which they can share. The “been there done that” approach is a key strength. Speakers we have recently worked with include:

Michael Wolff: founder of Wolff Olins and design guru
Sonita Alleyne: founder of “Something Else” productions, largest syndicator of radio programmes in the UK
Helen Stokes: London Development Corporation Business Woman of the Year in 2005 and 2006, founder of Morgan Hunt (a £110m turnover recruitment business)

Results from a previous Metapod Connect include:

• 90% of respondents rated the information they received on the course as excellent or good.
• All respondents stated that they would recommend Metapod Connect to a colleague.

“This was a truly transformative professional development experience for me”.

“A very inspiring and informative course. I would recommend it to any other organisation”.

“(the course)… naturally became incorporated into working patterns and changed professional and personal behaviour, so in that sense it was the most dramatically and tangibly successful course I’ve ever been on”. (Metapod Connect participants – names available on request)

How to apply or get more information

Please email Helga – and she can answer questions, send you an application form. The course is open to the first 14 people who complete the form and pay the fee.
